Persona versus account profile
The account profile identifies the platform user, while a Persona supplies a conversation-facing name, avatar and highlights. This makes it possible to roleplay different identities without repeatedly rewriting the default profile. Official guidance recommends concise highlights so a model has a clear signal. Long lists of appearance details and conflicting roles consume context without necessarily improving the exchange.
Choose the Persona before starting an important thread. SpicyChat documentation says a conversation generally remembers the Persona previously used with that character, but deleted or unavailable Personas can cause fallback behavior. Changing Persona during an existing chat
A mid-chat change affects how the system presents the user going forward. It does not edit old messages, references or memories that already use the previous identity. If continuity matters, start a fresh branch after changing Persona and add a concise in-scene explanation instead of expecting the character to infer why the identity changed.
Cloning is helpful when one storyline should continue with the old Persona and another should test the new one. Save and label the branch before switching. Context windows and memory managers
A context window is the amount of recent material available to the model for generating a response. Larger context can keep more dialogue accessible but still has limits, and attention is not perfect. A memory manager is different: it surfaces selected facts intended to remain relevant. Keep memories factual within the fictional scenario, short enough to scan and free of duplicated or contradictory statements.

Privacy and cleanup decisions
Persona highlights and memories should not contain credentials, payment details, government identifiers or confidential third-party information. Fictional context rarely needs a real address or workplace. If a narrative requires specificity, invent non-identifying details. Data minimization reduces harm if an account, screenshot or shared device exposes conversation settings.
When a model repeatedly uses an incorrect fact, correct the active memory or branch from an earlier point instead of piling on more contradictory messages.
